Endings and Beginnings....
Wow.....2006 is almost over. Can you believe it? So many wonderful things have happened in my life this year. Two of the most notables.....the birth of my little boy, Henry, and realizing my dream of publication with Cobblestone Press. And as this year ends and another is about to begin, it's time to set new goals for myself. Not resolutions, mind you....GOALS! I hate resolutions...because nine times out of ten...I never EVER keep them. So, I'm setting goals instead. I won't share them all now...but one I will tell you is that I plan to sit down at the computer and write every single day. Wasn't I doing this already? No. A big fat whopping NO. In fact, I must confess that in the last two months, I've barely written a single thing. And that's a terrible habit for a writer.

Now, don't think I haven't been "thinking" about writing, but it doesn't mean anything if you don't actually sit down and do something about it. So, my first goal is to sit at the computer and write. Even if I only write one stinking line, at least it'll be something. I also plan to post on my blog more. I have some exciting "theme's" for the days of the week that I'll be posting about each day. So, be sure to pop by, post something, and let me know what you think.

Some good news to end the year with. If you happen to get the Romantic Times Magazine, Cobblestone Press will have an ad in the February issue and a review and cover for my tryst, Vindication: The Adventures of a Private Jane will be in it. Isn't that awesome! I received a 4 Star rating from Aishe Cargile and here's what she had to say. "This is a fabulous but too-short story. You have incredible sex, a mystery that hits close to home and a heroine who's out to avenge her sister -- and has the means, the skill and the determination to do it. Hopefully, James' next release will be longer, so that readers will be able to savor more of her wonderful characters." What a fabulous ending to a great year!

Here's wishing you a Happy New Year! I hope it's fantabulous! :-)

My First "Recommended Read"
I received my first "Recommended Read" and "5 Angel" review from Fallen Angel Reviews today. This is my first review for One Day At A Time, so this totally makes my day today. Here's what Tewanda from FAR had to say...

Lyric James' One Day At A Time is a deeply emotional and erotic read. Kellye and Xavier are professionals that have struggled to become successful in their chosen profession. Neither expects to have love find them in such an unexpected way. Xavier and Kellye have an intense physical desire for each other, but during their 'just sex' relationship they are able to also become friends and confidantes. Ms. James tells an emotionally charged story from the first word and will hold the reader until the last word.

On a personal note, I joined Weight Watchers today. Wish me luck. I've done it before and lost 23 pounds. Since having the little one in May, I have too much "junk in the trunk" I'm carrying around. So, I decided to go ahead and buckle down and get it off. I went to the first meeting this morning and walked one mile afterwards. I remember a time I could walk two miles without feeling like I was about to pass out, but today, phew! It felt good to get out there though. It was cold, but I didn't mind it. I don't like to exercise in the house for some reason. I like to get away from the house and know that when I get home, it's already done so I don't feel bad about being a couch potatoe or sitting at the computer desk for hours.

The other reason I want to lose weight is because the hubby and I are going to Jamaica next June. I refuse to go to the beach in a bathing suit and be embarrased about the way I look in it and have to wear one of those cover thingys.

I decided to start today so it wouldn't be one of those New Years Resolution type of things...which I never ever seem to keep. So, I figure, if I'm already doing it...it's done and I'll just keep on doing it. So, again, wish me luck and I hope you have a great Saturday.
